The University Community Collaborative of Philadelphia (UCCP) “prepares and supports youth and young adults to become confident, effective leaders and collaborates with organizations to create cultures that value and integrate the contributions of youth, thereby building stronger communities.” We carry out this mission through programming for older youth (14-21) and capacity building for other youth serving organizations. Our programming is designed to keep youth engaged within our organization during their high school years and through their transition to higher education, providing them with the skills, knowledge, confidence and opportunities that prepare them for academic, social, personal and professional success.
Our capacity building is intended to help other organizations work more effectively with youth. We provide training and technical assistance in a broad range of areas including: youth adult partnerships; youth council development; youth philanthropy; media production and media literacy; project based learning; parent engagement in youth programs; workshop development; among others. Trainings are totally customized and vary in length. Trainings are carried out by full time staff and youth leaders.
