As a leader or emerging leader, you must have an answer to the key question, “Why should anyone be led by me?” It is important to be clear about what is special, even unique, about yourself and how these qualities can be maximized to ensure others follow your lead. Without the answer, you risk a failure in your leadership. This workshop will help you identify your own unique, authentic leadership style, and apply the 5 critical elements of leadership: self-awareness, influencing change, emotional intelligence, and creating a cooperative and collaborative work team.

Discover restorative concepts and learn effective strategies for managing student behavior and teaching students to take responsibility for their actions. The social science of restorative practices is an emerging field of study that enables people to restore and build relationships and community in an increasingly disconnected world. In schools, the use of restorative practices has been shown to reliably reduce misbehavior, bullying, violence and crime among students and improve the overall climate for learning.

In January, 2006, the Out-of-School Time Resource Center (OSTRC) at the University of Pennsylvania hosted its first Peer Networking Meeting. These monthly meetings allow out-of-school time (OST) staff to socialize, collaborate, and problem-solve with professional peers.
Each PNM features a peer panel and a multitude of opportunities to talk, network, and think about OST! They are an informal meeting and sharing opportunities for administrative as well as frontline staff. Moreover, attending Peer Networking Meetings can count toward formal training hours.
